The problem
Invoices, purchase orders and delivery receipts arrive in different formats. Comparing them by hand creates repetitive work and makes discrepancies easy to miss.
The objective
Design a traceable document workflow that extracts structured information, checks it with explicit rules and sends uncertain cases to a reviewer.

Engineering decisions
Use an LLM to interpret document content, then use deterministic checks for totals, currencies and matching. A plausible answer is not a validated record.
Keep the originating page and text alongside extracted values so a reviewer can verify the source instead of trusting an opaque result.
Queue long-running OCR and extraction tasks, expose processing states and design retries so a failed job does not create duplicate records.
